BLDG was recently selected to handle a unique solar project that was somewhat removed from the Edmonton city limits. We were hired for a unique job in Kivimaa-Moonlight Bay, Saskatchewan. Our client had constructed a workshop on his property with solar planned out during the design phase. Our client’s goal was to completely offset their annual electrical consumption and get their electricity bill as close to zero as possible.
After reviewing the structural design and doing a site visit, we were quickly able to handle the PV installation. Solar Products installed included the following:

How long do solar installations like this one take?
A commonly asked question about solar is - how long does it take? In the case of this project, the time frame of the entire installation process is something that should be highlighted:
Phase One: 8 weeks
- Project Estimation
- Contract Approval
- Permitting
- Microgeneration Agreement
- Installation (because solar was part of the design, the installation was completed in 12 hours)
- Final Inspection, Commissioning, and Energization
Phase Two: 4 weeks
The last step takes up to another 30 days for the bidirectional meter to be installed so the solar system can be energized.
