BLDG was recently selected to handle a unique solar project that was somewhat removed from the Edmonton city limits. We were hired for a unique job in Kivimaa-Moonlight Bay, Saskatchewan. Our client had constructed a workshop on his property with solar planned out during the design phase. Our client’s goal was to completely offset their annual electrical consumption and get their electricity bill as close to zero as possible.
After reviewing the structural design and doing a site visit, we were quickly able to handle the PV installation. Solar Products installed included the following:
- RoofTech RT MINI 2 (attachment method)
- Kinetic Rapid Rail
- SolarEdge Inverter & Power Optimizers
- Jinko 460W Solar Modules
- Kinetic Rodent Guard
How long do solar installations like this one take?
A commonly asked question about solar is - how long does it take? In the case of this project, the time frame of the entire installation process is something that should be highlighted:
Phase One: 8 weeks
- Project Estimation
- Contract Approval
- Microgeneration Agreement
- Installation (because solar was part of the design, the installation was completed in 12 hours)
- Final Inspection, Commissioning, and Energization
Phase Two: 4 weeks
The last step takes up to another 30 days for the bidirectional meter to be installed so the solar system can be energized.
If you want solar to be part of a new build, installation projects always get completed more efficiently and accurately when it’s factored in early in the design process.
BLDG Electric offers an all-in-one solar PV array installation and maintenance service for residential property owners throughout the greater Edmonton area, and Saskatchewan too.
We are a proud member of the Solar Energy Society of Alberta, and our staff are CSA NOC 7241 Certified for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Our knowledgeable and highly experienced staff design and construct each Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System to the highest standard. We support our systems throughout its lifetime, giving you peace of mind and maximum efficiency.
Each of our systems is created by our certified designers and installed by our certified electricians from start to finish. We do NOT subcontract our work. This results in a safe and reliable Solar PV System that will produce free electrical energy for decades.
